Are you experiencing a runny / stuffy nose, sore throat, or cough? Is your body having aches or a fever? Are you just feeling run down? If so all of these are symptoms of the flu and you should probably see your health care provider as soon as possible. Flu Season is now at its peak. Several cases have been documented across the area.  Schools have had low attendance and work places are short staffed. Below are some tips to reduce your chance of catching the flu and if you have the flu or think that you might have the flu these tips will help with the spread of it.

  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school
  • If you do have to go out in public or work clean your work space and everything in the office that you come into contact with
  • Keep your distance from people whom you know are ill
  • Wash your hands often
  • Despite what you have been taught about sharing, do not share items when you are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Use tissues for sneezes, runny noses, couches and dispose of them appropriately
  • Clean and wipe down all surfaces in your home especially in the kitchen and bathrooms
  • Get a flu shot if it is not to late
