All month long is National Fire Prevention Month, but October 8-14, 2017 is the dedicated National Fire Prevention Week!

Listed below are ways to save you and your family from a home fire:

-Draw a map of your home all members. Mark two exits from each room.  Make a path to the outside from each exit.

-Practice your home fire drill once a month. It is wise to have one at night and one during the day.  Every household member should participate using the different ways out.

-If you have small children teach them how to escape on their own. This is very important as you may not be able to reach them in the event of a fire.

-When exiting the house close doors behind you as it may slow the spread of the fire.

-Once outside, stay outside. You never go back inside a burning building always wait for the emergency personnel to arrive.
