Often times our tile grout will look dirty and dingy and some cleaners may not work. Gather these few simple ingredients and follow the steps below to have the grout looking fresh again.
What you will need:
- Toothbrush / Scrub Brush
- Spray Bottle
- Small Bowl
- Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Hydrogen Peroxide
Step 1:
First, fill spray bottle with half vinegar and half water and spray the area. Let the solution sit for five minutes or so. Next, take your brush and apply some elbow grease and scrub the area, then rinse with warm water.
Step 2:
In the small bowl, mix baking soda and water into a paste form. Using your brush apply the paste to the grout and work in. Spray the area with the vinegar and water solution. The vinegar will start to react with the baking soda and lift scum buildup. Scrub area with brush.
For tough stains:
If you have visible stains, mold or mildew, hydrogen peroxide is the answer. Spray it on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes then scrub with your brush. Repeat this step if necessary. If repeated efforts are still not removing the stain, try making a baking soda and hydrogen peroxide paste. Apply the paste, let sit, scrub and rinse with warm water.
These few tricks should have your tile looking new in no time.
